This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies CareTrack uses today, and how you can manage your preferences. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy & GDPR.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your session, security settings, or preferences. Similar technologies include local storage (for example theme or consent choices) and session identifiers.
2. Essential cookies and storage
These are strictly necessary to provide the service you request. Under the ePrivacy Directive and Finnish law, they do not require prior consent:
- Session cookie — keeps you signed in and maintains your secure session while you use CareTrack.
- CSRF / security token — protects forms and requests against cross-site attacks.
- Locale preference — remembers your chosen language where applicable.
- Theme preference — stores light or dark appearance in local storage (
caretrack-theme).
- Cookie consent — stores your acceptance of this notice in local storage (
caretrack-cookie-consent) so we do not show the banner again.
3. Optional and analytics cookies
CareTrack does not currently use non-essential analytics, advertising, or social-media tracking cookies on the public website. If we introduce optional cookies in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before setting them.
4. Third-party services
When you choose “Continue with Google” or “Continue with Microsoft”, you are redirected to those providers’ authentication pages, which may set their own cookies under their privacy policies. Fonts and scripts loaded from CDNs (for example Bootstrap or Font Awesome) may involve technical requests; we minimize third-party data collection on marketing pages.
5. How to manage cookies
You can use the cookie banner on our website to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Declining hides the banner and stores your choice; only strictly necessary cookies and storage required for the service continue to operate. You can also clear or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in, forms, or locale features from working correctly.
To withdraw consent for optional cookies in the future, use the banner settings or contact us at privacy@caretrack.com.
6. Your rights
Cookie-related processing may involve personal data. You have rights under GDPR as described in our Privacy Policy, including access, rectification, and objection where applicable. Finnish residents may contact the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman if they believe processing is unlawful.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our use of cookies changes or when law is updated. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change accordingly. Material changes may be highlighted on the website cookie banner.
